Tuomas just keeps pummelling out top release after top release and Unicorn from the Drum Tower EP is no exception. Intriguing skip beats and random SFX that flit across the stereo field all hang on a contrasting melodic loop that doesn’t quite seem to fit. After the first subtle breakdown the melodic loop is ditched and a new tougher kick pattern introduced creating an obvious vibe change. Then, after the second breakdown the honky out of place loop is back to indicate the beginning of the end.
